Join us in a big online celebration for our planet with fun-packed, interactive music-making on Earth Day weekend. Kumi Masunaga, a Hong Kong-based Japanese percussionist and the Founder of Drum Jam, will be your guide on Zoom. She will be joined by musicians and groups from around the world for this very special event.

In order to connect people in different time zones around the world, we are offering two x 1-hour sessions. It's an exciting opportunity to play music with people all around this precious planet! See the list below for details of timing for your location.

It’s open to people of all ages (yes, children are welcome). Bring a bucket, a DIY shaker or any kind of “Found Sound” musical instrument in your home. If you have a hand drum, percussion and/or other musical instrument, you are welcome to use them. Prior music experience is not necessary.

This event is free – and donations are welcome. All donations will go to the charity we have chosen, Big Life Foundation, a non-profit organisation focused on wildlife conservation in East Africa through unique community-based strategies.

Daniel Sambu (photo), a Maasai tribesman, will be joining us from Kenya in Session #2.

“Drumming cuts through all boundaries – gender, age, race, social hierarchy.  It is the most accessible form of music and is a great tool for positive, non-verbal communication

that transforms us from

"me" to "we". ” - Kumi M.
