Kumi Masunaga
Kumi Masunaga is a Japanese percussionist and joy-affirming performer dedicated to the transformative power of rhythm. She is a REMO artist and the Founder of Drum Jam in Hong Kong,
With her vibrant music and zest, Kumi has travelled from Africa to the Americas to Asia, learning indigenous rhythms, cultures, and wisdom to ignite her team-building, youth and community empowerment programmes.
She has shared the stage with global change-makers such as Jane Goodall and David Beckham, and was recently named a "Beauty Pilgrim" by Satish Kumar for the harmony she creates through community music.
Tens of thousands of people have experienced the "infectious enthusiasm" described by the South China Morning Post through Kumi’s drum circles, corporate sessions, classrooms, and wellness retreats.
She is a Village Music Circles Global Trainer and a facilitator of the evidence-based HealthRHYTHMS.
A two-time TEDx presenter, Kumi has been leading rhythm-based experiences since founding Drum Jam twenty-five years ago. Her work remains driven by a deep commitment to connection and well-being.
