Welcome to the Japanese-themed Drum Jam—a vibrant gathering where rhythm unites us all. Each month, 80 to 100 participants come together to create a warm, inclusive community vibe. This will be our final Drum Jam of the year, as the December 30th session has been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances at the venue. Don’t miss this chance to drum, dance, and celebrate together before ringing in the new year!
Join Japanese percussionist Kumi Masunaga and this month’s special guest, Etta Lee (@hkjapanesemusic), who will bring the authentic sounds and festive energy of traditional Japanese koto (琴) and shamisen (三味線) to the Fringe Club! This special session features large and medium-sized Taiko drums alongside a diverse collection of African, Latin American, and Asian percussion.
Drum Jam welcomes people from all walks of life—whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned player, bring your heartbeat and open mind. No experience is necessary. Let’s groove together!
